Laela Shallal is a law clerk at Colella Zefutie and a 2L at the George Washington University Law School. She is a Junior Staff Member for the Federal Circuit Bar Journal, the official journal of the Federal Circuit Bar Association. Laela completed her first year of legal studies at the Columbus School of Law – The Catholic University of America where she was a faculty merit scholarship recipient. She also served as the 1L Representative to the Women’s Law Caucus and was a member of the Law and Technology Institute.
A DC Native, Laela has served as a Commissioner on Mayor Muriel Bowsers’ Council on Physical Fitness, Health, and Nutrition since 2016. She received a M.A. from Columbia University, and a B.A. from William & Mary.
Laela also has a strong commitment to public service. She is a member of NEXUS, an organization that works to increase and improve philanthropy and impact investing by bridging communities of wealth and social entrepreneurship. In her free time, Laela enjoys horseback riding, swimming, and painting.
